Nigeria drops 12 places to 118 in global gender ranking

Nigeria, Sub-Saharan Africa’s largest economy has fallen 12 places to 118th in the global gender equality
ranking, according to the, according to the Global Gender Gap Report 2014, launched today.Sub-Saharan Africa, meanwhile, boasts three countries in the top 20 of the index. The highest placed,Rwanda, scores highly in terms of economic and political participation and is the highest-ranked developing country in the index.
Next is Burundi, which climbs five places to 17th, followed by South Africa.
